Crexendo, the Business to Business company that provides cloud based web services, sponsors an annual website competition for students attending a participating college. With this competition, the company hopes to encourage students to develop their website building skills. The competition is primarily intended to get entrants to use their web design skills to create a winning site and win some prize money. This prize allows finalists the chance to win thousands of dollars for their future, as well as publishing their website on the internet for everyone to see. Anyone who enters this contest can potentially win a lot of cash.
We?ll start you off with the basic facts about this annual website creation competition. The UP Website Competition is free to enter and is sponsored as part of the Crexendo University Program. This is a college program sponsored by a website developer that seeks to teach students the business skills necessary and offers the technological tools required to help students succeed after graduation. Any student can enter via a school or university that is participating in the program. Anyone who enters the contest has an equal chance of winning with their entry website.
All those entering the competition must use the eCommerce web-based software license that they are given access to for free on entering the contest. Free access to the software license is granted to all colleges participating in the university program. The goal of the competition is to use this software to design, build and launch a fully functioning website. Furthermore, contestants have a chance to learn more about website design using the company?s eCommerce Content Management System (CMS) software.
Even those who haven?t entered the contest, but are part of a participating university get access to the CMS software for up to six months free of charge. This program allows all students of the participating university a chance to find out about the basics of website design and even practice their skills as designers. On the cloud based CMS, students can use templates to design and create their own websites. Additionally, there are keyword research tools available to use from this business.
As of 2012, this is the only the second run for the UP Website Competition. During the first year?s competition, some $18,000 in prize money was up for grabs with the first prize being $7,500 in cash. Anyone who entered the contest also got to have their web sites published at no cost from them for six months. Bringham Young University, California State university Fullerton, and the University of Utah are colleges participating in the UP course.
