Bosnia's top culture institutions closing down (AP)

SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina ? Bosnia's oldest and most prestigious cultural institutions have begun closing their doors one after another, thanks to long-standing disputes among politicians from its three ethnic groups and meager state funding.

In 2011, the seven institutions ? including the 125-year-old National Museum that houses the country's most important archaeological and ethnological artifacts ? received no funding from authorities in the Balkan nation and can no longer finance their work or even cover their utility bills.

A main reason is the failure by political leaders of the country's Serb, Croat and Bosniak peoples to agree on what to do with Bosnia's shared historical and cultural heritage, and whether to even preserve it.

Every question has a timer of 30 seconds and is worth a maximum of 100 points. As the timer ticks down, points are removed from the value of the question. At the 20 and 10 second marks, an incorrect answer is removed from play. Once you select an answer, that answer is locked in and the round is over. If you answer the question correctly, you?ll earn the points left towards your game total. The first player to reach 1,000 points wins the game and a set of coins.

During each game you have the opportunity to use 3 lifelines; 20%, 50/50, and ?Ask the Net?. Each lifeline costs 20 coins and can only be played once per game, so use them wisely! * 20%: Adds 20% to the score you earn on this question.

* ?Ask the Net?: Shows you percentages on how the question has been answered by other players.

We?ve worked hard to ensure a great set of categories and questions, but we?ve built in an option for you to report any issues as well. After you answer a question, a small warning icon will display in the bottom-right of the screen. If you think the answer is incorrect or you find a formatting issue, please touch this icon to report the issue to us.

India, Australia bank on similar tactics

Indian captain MS Dhoni shakes hands with his Australian counterpart Michael Clarke during a meeting in Sydney. (PTI Photo)

SYDNEY: They say change is the only constant, but in the cocoon of Indo-Oz cricket it pays to be static. Their teams may be at different ends of the spectrum, but rival skippers MS Dhoni and Michael Clarke have their own compulsions for sticking to the same XI and similar tactics - for the second Test at the SCG - that had been employed at the MCG last week.

Clarke, who was toying with the idea of fielding an all-pace attack on his home ground - which is hosting its 100th Test - quickly changed his stance and named an unchanged side on Monday after taking one look at the pitch that, according to curator Tom Parker, should aid spinners towards the later stages of the match.

This means pacer Ryan Harris will be the 12th man. Clarke argued that the Australian team management found it impossible to ignore the effort by the players who starred in the Melbourne win. "It's a tough call on 'Rhino' (Harris), he's been such a wonderful bowler for us and it was tough to leave him out," Clarke said. "The success we had and the way we performed in Melbourne, it was tough to change that team," he added.

Dhoni, who loves to sleep over team matters, kept the decision pending, but dropped enough hints that India, too, would go in with an unchanged side. Dhoni said, "In the absence of a full-fledged all-rounder in the side, playing a fifth bowler is not feasible."

Asked if he would like to give his three pacers Ishant Sharma, Zaheer Khan and Umesh Yadav the first use of the greenish pitch, Dhoni kept his cards close to the chest.

"It will depend on exactly how the wicket looks before the start of the game... how much moisture is in the wicket and how hot or cloudy the conditions are," he said.

Clarke, who feels winning the toss and batting is a Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) in Test matches, is likely to walk the talk as Australia may not want to risk batting last. Australia's new coach Mickey Arthur has backed lone off-spinner Nathan Lyon to cope with an Indian onslaught at the SCG.

"There's no doubt that they will try and go after him, but if we have runs on the board, Nathan becomes a very interesting prospect for us," Arthur said.

The accent, however, will be on pace in the 'Battle for Sydney' as the SCG waits for new reputations to be made and a few old ones to tumble. The one person on the threshold of history seemed least affected by it. For Sachin Tendulkar, it was just another day in office as he batted and batted in the nets against hundreds of 'throw-downs' from 18 yards. Tendulkar, who has not put a foot wrong at his favourite overseas venue since making his maiden trip to Australia in 1992, will be focused on getting a big score here that would give him a century of centuries and a beleaguered Team India a shot in the arm.

India badly need runs from its most consistent performer over two decades. Skipper Dhoni had been quick to blame the 'Melbourne Malady' on batting failure. India cannot afford another anaemic display from their stalwarts as well as their captain.

The same matrix applies to Australian batsmen, particularly to senior pros Ricky Ponting and Michael Hussey, who are fast reaching their sell-by date. Ponting, who made 62 and 60 at the MCG - the exact number of runs (122) Australia won by - will be looking to get a big one, for the road, at his favourite venue where he has so far amassed 1346 runs at 64.08. Ditto for Hussey who, like Ponting, finds himself listed on Cricket Australia's perform-and-play scheme.

Utah Jazz: Coach Tyrone Corbin is waiting to name a team captain

Published: Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011 10:29 p.m. MST

SAN ANTONIO ? The Utah Jazz remain a captainless crew.

That's not to say the team is without leadership early in the 2011-12 season. Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin just hasn't officially designated a team captain (or two).

"I'm in no rush yet," the second-year coach said.

Corbin doesn't have any particular characteristics he's looking for in a potential team captain, but he'll know it when he sees it.

"It" being?

Corbin: "Just who the guys respond to, (and) how the guy responds to his teammates."

Asked who's taken the most vocal role in the locker room, Corbin mentioned veterans Al Jefferson and Earl Watson.

Makes sense. When camp started, Watson said he wanted to speak up more to help his team in his second season in Utah. Backing up Devin Harris on the court wasn't going to be his only contribution this season for the reserve point guard.

"I think you have to back it up with action first, consistent action," Watson said. "That's what I'm trying to focus on now is consistent action, helping my teammates whenever I can, especially in tough situations such as (after losses Tuesday and Wednesday)."

Even if a captain emerges, the Jazz like the leadership-by-committee concept.

"The guys are kinda rallying around each other. It's not one or two guys," Corbin said. "The older guys in this group are starting to make sure that we give ourselves a chance to win and stop making the mistakes that's costing us to win, really staying focused and getting tighter as a group of guys. I've been pleased with that."

"I think everyone's stepping up," Watson added. "If we've got a problem to solve, it's a collective group."

C.J. Miles, the Jazz's longest-tenured player, said the team needs (and has) players to be a "glue guy" who keeps them bonded.

"We have guys capable of doing that," said Miles, in his seventh NBA season in Utah. "I think with everybody searching for an identity nobody, wants to step out when ... they're trying to figure (it) out."

Thirty-two games into his first head coaching gig, Corbin is feeling more comfortable and confident in his role as the team's ultimate leader.

The team has gone through a lot since he took over for Hall of Fame coach Jerry Sloan last February. The tumultuous nature of that situation. Deron Williams' trade. Late-season struggles. Prepping for a lockout. The long offseason's uncertainty. Then a camp crammed with a lot of catch-up work.

But Corbin likes how the players are heeding his teaching.

"I think the guys are responding to where we are," Corbin said. "We've just got to get better and familiar with everybody (players and assistants). It's a process. You can't just expect it to happen overnight, you flip a switch and it's there."

Google, Facebook, Twitter Help Revelers Ring in New Year

Google, Facebook and Twitter are getting attention as revelers say goodbye to 2011 and hello to 2012.

The Internet search leader has a new Doodle that celebrates the holiday, social networking site Facebook is preparing for an onslaught of photo uploads and so you don't miss any of the action Twitter has a way for you to keep up with the news and quips about the ball dropping in New York City.

The online world is shaping up to be a fun destination for people celebrating the new year.

Google's latest Doodle, presumably its last in a busy year of playing around with its home page, consists of each of the company's six letters decked out in party attire amidst confetti and balloons. As Saturday dawned, the festive-looking Doodle didn't do more than take you to a search results page for "Happy New Year," but who knows, maybe Google built in more interactivity that would surface closer to the ball dropping. Or maybe not. Regardless, this one was getting global attention.

The Doodle, which you can see at Google's home page, was first spotted on South Korean and New Zealand landing pages since, because of time zone differences, Asia and Pacific regions roll into 2012 earlier than the United States.

If you're a Google Doodle fan and would simply like to take another look at all the good ones from 2011, check out its recently revamped Google Doodle website, which is now not only a hub for Doodles but also an online Doodle Store where you can purchase posters, t-shirts, coffee mugs, skateboard decks, and other Doodle paraphernalia.

Want more New Year?s Eve action? You can follow @timessquareball on Twitter to keep up with the buzz about the ball dropping in New York City, or stream it live using the official Times Square New Year?s Eve Ball app for Apple and Android devices.

And according to The Mercury News, Facebook just might get more than a billion photo uploads on New Year's Eve 2011. After all, during Halloween night 2010 and the following day it accepted 1.2 billion uploads. Now it has at least 200 million more users.

Gaming Firm Responds to PR Nightmare With 1200-Word Press ...

More than 16,000 emails, many of them made up largely of obscenities, have flooded into the small video-game controller company at the center of this week's epic PR meltdown, according to the man who says he was brought in to clean up the debris. (Check out our previous post for details.) "Some of the emails are just vitriol, but some are valid, even large-scale customers," says Mois?s Chiullan, the new press agent for N-Control's Avenger controller. "We're going to respond to every single one of them." The email deluge began when popular webcomic Penny Arcade posted the transcript of a customer's heated email exchange with the controller company's previous PR point man, Paul Christoforo of Ocean Marketing, whose wretched customer-service skills were matched only by his wretched spelling. Attempting to salvage the Avenger's reputation and clarify that Christoforo is no longer in the picture, N-Control has issued a lengthy and detailed press release, which you can read verbatim after the jump. In addition to the abject apologies and finger pointing you might expect, there are quite a few entertaining tidbits, such as Chiullan's official comment on his predecessor: "We have to move forward and take care of Avenger's customers. I can't worry about the fact that there isn't a bus big enough for me to throw Paul Christoforo under. The internet did that for me. I think they set him on fire too." Unsurprisingly, Christoforo tells Kotaku that he feels like "the entire world was bullying me" and he probably should have handled it "a little better."
